  • A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Hajj

It’s that time of year again: Hajj time - not to be confused with Hammertime or  Kajagoogoo.

In case you don’t know, the Hajj is the annual pilgrimage to Mecca every Muslim is expected to do at least once in one’s lifetime if they are physically and financially able. Think of it as the Islamic equivalent of the annual firemen’s carnival or church picnic just on a much grander scale!

  • The Denials & Hopes of Self-Exile

Apathy; what else do I dare to feel? Moments before boarding the plane, many emotions fill my brain: sadness, anticipation, anxiety. Yet, the only one I really dare to feel is apathy. Yet, another flight taking me away from the land of my parents, my siblings, my best friends. What a plethora of feelings! Every time, it’s getting worse as I am getting older. 20 years, almost to the day. 20 years of immigration and self-exile from where I was born.

  • Why Burning the Koran Is Pointless

By now, everyone’s surely heard of the Pentecostal pastor in Gainesville, Florida who intends to burn some Korans in a big bonfire on September 11. We assume everyone reading this has heard that Reverend Terry Jones is organizing a Koranapalouza since news has even reached places in the world where running water and reliable electricity are still considered ‘upgrades’ in real estate ads. Just because you have a dirt floor does not mean you’re out of the loop apparently. Everyone knows about Reverend Terry Jones but if you don’t, ABC News did a profile of the guy who likes to spend quality time rolling around the floor while moaning, and you can watch more about him here.

  • Lady Liberty's Modern Makeover

As America marks another Independence Day, we reflect upon what America's become in those 234 years since it told Great Britain to go fak herself when it adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. No, Virginia, July 4th's not about fireworks, bbqs, and waving American flags made in China as the average American seems to believe. We contemplate the true intentions of the founding fathers, so often referenced by the religiwhacks who wrongly insist that America is a Christian nation, especially when they're trying to force their falsified version of history into public school textbooks in Texas. We must ask ourselves: "If you're so certain the founding fathers intended America as a Christian nation, then why the fak do you feel it necessary to rewrite history? But, it seems one must rewrite history when actual history doesn't quite match the bullshit you're trying to peddle as history."

  • Fak the Children! Religion Gives Pedophilia Its Blessing

Fak the children! That's right: FAK the children. Don't worry, we don't mean it that way. After all, we're atheists, not Catholics. But, that's more than we can say for various religious establishments that excuse their pedophilia as a sort of religious right to commit  heinous crimes. Faking the children is exactly what many of them are doing......legally, I guess or without opposition from any judicial authority. These pedophiles freely molest and rape children without fear of reprimand or punishment via religious exemption. We just don't call it rape, although in some cases, that's exactly what it is but cloaked under the protective umbrella of 'religious behavior.' They either claim their pedophilia is warranted within their religious beliefs like the Islamic faks who take (and we stress take) and rape child brides or like the Catholic Church that's been shielded from prosecution by religious immunity, for lack of a better label.

  • The Talibangelists of Palinistan

I was watching an interesting debate the other night on BBC about Europe failing its Islamic population. The debate centred on freedom of speech and women rights, as expected. That made me think, once again, about religion and personal freedoms.

What about what just happened in Nigeria? It seems that hundreds of Christians, including many women and children, were killed in ethnic violence near the city of Josin Nigeria during the weekend. The latest attacks by Muslims are said to have been reprisals for the January killings by Christians. The circle of violence continues.

  • The Arrogance of Ignorance

As some of you may have noticed, I have been absent from this site for a few months now, so Antigone was constantly winging in coming up with a new story. She claims that I lost my mojo and cannot write anymore. As usual, she's wrong. I do have what it takes to write another story and I don't even need palm notes like Sarah Palin to remember what to write or say. I don't even have to think hard about what to write these days. All I have to do is think of Sarah and her TEA Party supporters.

  • Holy Fakin' Email, Batman!

I've about had it with these religiwhacks trying every which way to jam their holy intentions down my throat. While I find the bumper sticker bearing, Tea Party attending Christian fundamentalist activists wholeheartedly obnoxious and intolerable, I've come to discover I'm more irritated by those who adopt the more subtle, seemingly innocent approach to raping you with their religion as part of their subconscious need to save the non-believers from ourselves and recruit us into their cause.

  • Go Google Yourself China!

When someone really faked off my dad, his most common and fiercest reply was "Why don't you go fak yourself and see how that works out for you?" In the spirit of that feeling, I take the liberty of tweaking it a bit to apply to the latest row between Google and my favorite place on earth: China. You know, China, where the internet is free, and the rest of us are being unreasonable imperialist faks.
